Charity (Daan): The Astrological Guide to Giving

What goes around comes around. This is the fundamental law of Karma, and the foundational principle behind Daan (Charity) as an astrological remedy. If a planet is causing you pain, it is because you have a karmic debt related to that planet. The fastest way to clear that debt is to give something associated with that planet away to someone in need.
However, random charity does not fix specific astrological problems. In Vedic Astrology, Daan must be highly targeted. You must donate the specific items ruled by the afflicted planet, on the specific day ruled by that planet, to the specific people represented by that planet.
The Rules of Astrological Charity
Daan is the opposite of a gemstone. You wear a gemstone to bring a planet's energy IN. You do Daan to get a planet's negative energy OUT.
- NEVER Donate for a Good Planet: This is a critical mistake. If Jupiter is your best planet, and you constantly donate yellow clothes or gold (Jupiter's items) to charity, you are literally giving away your own good luck and wealth!
- Only Donate for Malefics: You should only perform Daan for the planets that are actively harming your chart (e.g., Lords of the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses, or planets causing a negative Dasha).
- The Secret Intention: True Daan must be done secretly. If you brag about your charity on social media, the ego (Sun) claims the reward, and the karmic debt to the malefic planet is not erased.

- Sun (Sunday): Donate wheat, copper, or red clothes to middle-aged men or government workers. Fixes issues with authority and ego.
- Moon (Monday): Donate milk, rice, silver, or white clothes to older women or mothers. Fixes anxiety and emotional instability.
- Mars (Tuesday): Donate red lentils, jaggery, or red clothes to brothers, soldiers, or those in physical pain. Fixes anger, accidents, and debt.
- Mercury (Wednesday): Donate green vegetables, green clothes, or books to students or young girls. Fixes communication issues and nervous disorders.
- Jupiter (Thursday): Donate yellow lentils, bananas, or religious books to teachers, priests, or spiritual organizations. Fixes issues with wealth and marriage.
- Venus (Friday): Donate sugar, rice, white flowers, or luxury items to young women or artists. Fixes relationship problems and financial blocks.
- Saturn (Saturday): Donate mustard oil, iron, black lentils, or black clothes to the elderly, the homeless, or manual laborers. Fixes severe delays, chronic illness, and poverty.
- Rahu/Ketu: Feed street dogs, donate black/white blankets to lepers or outcasts, or sweep a temple floor. Fixes sudden chaotic events and phobias.
Conclusion
Daan is the great equalizer. By taking a fraction of what you have and freely giving it to those who have less, you prove to the universe that you are not attached to material outcomes. This non-attachment immediately loosens the grip of even the harshest planetary transits.
